Curator’s comments

Robinson spent seven months during 1989 at P.S. I Contemporary Art Center in Long Island City, Queens, as a recipient of a fellowship from the Institute for Contemporary Art in New York. By the 1980s the number of homeless people in New York had escalated, and they became the subject of many of Robinson's New York Stories series.
